"Daywalkers"
Transsexual portraiture has often been restricted to limited-access environments, such as special parties, nightclubs, or private studios, and most of the images that comprise such photography is usually in the form of snapshots. My own self-portraiture, collected over a period of over two decades, consists of more than 100,000 images of which 90% are snapshots captured in poorly lit nightclubs. My goal with this project is to create a series of fashion images of male-to-female transsexuals in various daytime situations that capture the beauty of a candid moment or simply the beauty of the model herself against everyday urban scenery, such as parks, walks, and cafés. Such images in the transsexual community are rare and my intent is to show that these beautiful women could very well be walking, talking, and co-existing among you.
Inclusion in my Daywalkers project is by invitation only. |
